Three Generations of Excellence

For over 80 years, Arthur Finnieston Prosthetics + Orthotics has provided unparalleled prosthetic and orthotic service to the local and international community. By making client comfort our first priority, we remove limitations caused by pain, allowing our patients to participate in every activity imaginable. Our passion in developing new technology redefines what is possible for amputees. We are committed to providing personalized and exceptional care to our clients that incorporates the latest developments in Prosthetics & Orthotics. Accordingly, we are the only South Florida clinic that is powered by BioSculptor®, the most advanced prosthetics CAD/CAM system worldwide. As well, we actively participate in clinical R&D studies with the University of Miami. We specialize in the exceptionally athletic amputee and cases that are considered ‘hard to fit.’

Our clinic was established in 1928 by Arthur Finnieston. He founded the company out of a desire to offer exceptional prosthetic and orthotic care to all. During his tenure, he not only provided service to all of Miami’s major hospitals and clinics but also to children in the Bahamas. For his outstanding work in the Bahamas, Arthur was conferred the honor of Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. Alan Finnieston, Arthur’s son, joined the Clinic in 1960. He is recognized world-wide as an innovator in the field of Prosthetics & Orthotics, developing & patenting numerous products and techniques. Alan’s commitment to research and development led him to found Maramed Orthopedic Systems and BioSculptor Corporation in 1973 and 1994 respectively.

Eighty years later, Adam R. Finnieston continues the family tradition. He focuses on achieving comfort and activity for his clients through his innovative socket design and expertise using the BioSculptor® system. In 2005, he launched Extreme Prosthetics™, a division of Arthur Finnieston, to address the needs of exceptionally athletic amputees.

With Extreme Prosthetics™, he strives to provide prosthetic care that allows his patient’s to pursue literally any athletic desire they have no matter how big the challenge.
